Iran feature claims award in Vietnam

Iranian feature ‘The Dark Room’ has succeeded to snatch Best Film award from the 5th edition of Hanoi International Film Festival in Vietnam.

Directed by Rouhollah Hejazi, ‘The Dark Room’ had earned 4 nods in the categories of best actor, best actress, best director and best film, bagging the Best Film award of the festival.

The rivals for ‘The Dark Room’ were big names like the acclaimed French film director Benoît Jacquot and Russian filmmaker Karen Shakhnazarov.    

The feature is the story of a couple who has begun their new season with some changes that will lead them to new circumstances.

They have recently moved to a new complex with their 5-year-old son. The son is lost in the desert, in front of the complex, however, his parents find him soon.

Later, the son tells his father that someone has made troubles for him and this makes the father very upset and he is looking for a suspect who has harassed the little boy.

Cast team enjoys stars like Sareh Bayat, Saed Soheili, Amir-Reza Ranjbaran, Morvarid Kashian, Mohammad Emami, Reza Ahmadi and Jila Daei.        

‘The Dark Room’ will hit big screens in Iran from mid December.

The Hanoi International Film Festival (also known as HANIFF) is a biennial film festival founded in 2010 as the first international film festival in Vietnam. Prior to 2016, only Asian films participated in the competition.

The 5th edition of the Hanoi International Film Festival was held on October 27-31, 2018 in Vietnam.
